LHC Scholarship Program
The Louisiana Housing Council NAHRO Annual Scholarship Program provides scholarship opportunities to resident high school seniors living in public or assisted housing at a Louisiana Housing Council (LHC) member agency. LHC may award up to seven scholarships. One scholarship, payable over four years, may be awarded. Also, six one-year scholarships may be awarded. The scholarships have been established by the LHC to provide the opportunity for students associated with public assisted housing to take advantage of post high school educational opportunities that otherwise might not be possible. The program is competitive and awards are based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. All scholarship funds with go directly to the student. The multi-year scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.5 grade point average (on a scale of 4) during their course of study, to remain eligible to receive scholarship payments.
